Comments: I am an Elementary Teacher at Longfellow School. I taught 2nd grade for 24 years and have been teaching Title I for the past 2 years. I work with kids from K-4th grade who need extra help in Reading and Math. I love my job and I'm looking forward to next fall when we will be in a "Brand New Longfellow School" (located just west of the current building). My husband Todd and I have three sons: Andrew (20) is a student at USD, Ryan (17) will be a senior at MHS and Spencer (14) will be a freshman at MHS in the fall.

Comments: Jim and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary last week. We have three children and 5 grandchildren. We got married August 9th, 1980 in Mitchell at the United Methodist Church and started our family in Mitchell where I worked at a local restaurant and Jim was a Police Officer. Jim re-joined the Air Force and we moved from Mitchell in late 1982 and have lived all over the United States but settled for now in Bellevue, NE. Jim is retired from the Air Force and works for the School District here as well as operating his own lawn care business with our 2 boys. I have worked at Nebraska Furniture Mart for 17 years. We spend our time with Family, Friends, riding motorcycles, and supporting our youngest son's high school activities. We are members of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church and also the Christian Motorcycle Association (Warriors of Christ) where Jim is the Vice President. After our youngest graduates from school we will be moving back to Mitchell (about 3 years). I am sure I will be at the next MHS reunion.

Comments: My husband Kevin and I have been married for 27 years. We have three children who for the past year were all in college at the same time. Kyle (23) graduated from University of Oklahoma (Commerical Aviation & Air Traffic Control), Katie (22) graduated from Colorado State University (Secondary Education English) and Andrew (20) is a junior at Colorado State University (Construction Management). It was difficult making the empty nest transition after so many years of following school activities & sports and just when we thought we'd figured it out they're home again for the summer and we're enjoying every minute of it. I guess the old saying is true; Your kids never really leave home, they just stay away for extended periods of time. :)

Recent Awards: Caring Spirit Award and Leadership Award at my current POE.

Married April 19, 1991 in Sherwood, OR. My husband had a heart transplant January 12, 2009 and is doing outstanding. We have two cats and keep busy in the community. We love to golf charity tournaments for heart transplant and Blue Moon Animal Sanctuary.

There's nothing more important than family and friends to us and we counldn't be more blessed.

Comments: On April 4, 2008, I celebrated my 20-year anniversary with Freddie Mac as a Computer Programmer (first 10 yrs.) and a Customer Education Technical Specialist (last 10 yrs.)

On May 20, 2008, I was laid off as part of the "financial industry roller coaster" that hit the country. I received a 1-year severance package, so my family and I decided it was a great opportunity to go back to school to get a teaching license.

In May 2009, we finalized the adoption of our daughter, Gabriella, in Kigali, Republic of Rwanda. If anyone is interested in our experiences, we created a blog at http://gettinggabriella.blogspot.com/

In May 2010, I will receive my teaching license in Secondary Mathematics. I have been thinking about doing something like this for quite awhile, and am very excited about the change. Yes, there will be another Mr. Lauer in a High School Math classroom, somewhere and it looks promising that I will get a teaching position at one of the local high schools. There is even the possibility I may be teaching at the high school my kids will be attending.....HHHHHMMMMM sounds vaguely familiar......

Comments: Life has been great for my family. I have attached a photo of my son Phillip's High School graduation. It is hard to believe he is in the Class of 2010. My wife Cheryl and I attended his graduation in May.

Cheryl and I live in Houston, Texas where I have been since 1989. I spent the first 25 years of my career with large corporations and then 5 years ago started my own business. I sell flowers on the internet under the domain www.aflowerpale.com. I like to say we are like 1800 Flowers but a little smaller. Two years ago I purchased a trade school and now train people that are interested in creating floral arrangements. The designers don't want me to touch the flowers so I spend most of my time in sales and marketing, signing up new students.

My wife and I have five children (3 are hers and 2 are mine) who live in 5 different states, so we spend a lot of time on the road visiting kids. My youngest, Parker, lives in Ft. Lauderdale with his mom and my older son, Phillip is in college in Idaho. Cheryl has two in college, Lisa at Indiana and Drew at U of Chicago. Scott lives and works in Dallas.

We love to travel, spend time with family and we practice with our friend's grandkids in hopes of playing with our own someday (only not too soon!).

My parents are healthy and living in Sioux Falls. I appreciate them more every day and apologize for many, many things I did growing up that my kids are now doing to me.

Comments: Memories and Highlights of the past 30 years: I graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in Political Science in '84. Singing has been a big part of my life, including at Olaf and for 20 years in the Dale Warland Singers, a professional choir located in the Twin Cities (one of our recordings was nominated for a Grammy).

I married in 1991, was step-mom to two, then divorced in 2005. I'm currently single and living in an arts-and-crafts style 1915 house along the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. I love the easy access to everything-great dining, entertainment and biking trails.

For the last 12 years, I have been an independent consultant, focusing primarily on management and leadership services to nonprofit corporations. The MN Valley Trust, Inc. has been a long-time client, of which I am the Executive Director. I have served many organizations as Interim Executive Director, with a specialty in turnarounds and transition management. Prior to striking out independently, I held a variety of positions with Waste Management, Inc. including government affairs manager (even got snowed in a couple times while lobbying in Pierre) and general manager of an operating division of the company.
