Jeff Blaalid

Jeffrey Scott Blaalid passed away in Mission Viejo, CA of a heart attack.  Born in Yankton, and a graduate of Mitchell High School and School of Mines, he moved to California to work for Rockwell International.

Jeff married Kathleen Finley in 1989 and they have two sons, Douglas and Ryan.  Jeff worked in computer research and development for storage solutions.  At the time of his death, he worked for iStor Networks, Inc. in Irvine, California.  He was devoted to his family and spent much of his time teaching Junior High Sunday School and running the church sound system.

Dan Casey

Dan Casey attended Augustana for one year after High School.  He was then trained as an EMT and worked in that field for 15 years in Mitchell and San Diego.  The Casey family is sad to report that after many years of battling alcoholism and a bi-polar condition, Dan took his own life on September 18, 2000.  The Casey's thank the Class of '80 for remembering Dan on this memorial page.

Wade Kiner

Wade Alan Kiner:  grew up and attended schools in Mitchell and at Hanson High School.  He attended South Dakota State University and Northern State College.  On May 28, 1988, he married Cindy Hayes at the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell.  He was employed at the Scoreboard in Mitchell for a number of years, Mitchell Technical Institute and Front Line Chemical.  He has two children, a daughter; Cassendra (Cassie) born in December of 1988 and son; John, born in in January of 1991.

Wade loved to play video games, computer games and to spend time with his family.  He died on August 19, 2008 after battling Muscular Dystrophy all his life.

Dave Morgan

Dave Morgan married Pam Gillespie on June 28th, 1980, shortly after that he left for basic training in the Army.  He was stationed in Ft. Bliss, TX.  After two years of service he was diagnosed with diabetes and received a medical discharge.  He then drove truck and worked for Willard Equipment in Plainview, TX until he could no longer work.  Dave and Pam had three children:  Jeanie, Jon and Daniel.  Dave and Pam divorced in 1991.

On Sept. 17, 1999, Dave married Tami Schoenfelder.  He passed away on November 26, 2001 of complications caused by his diabetes.

She loved:  Her Children, Planting Roses, Artwork, Collecting Angel Figures and Working as a Nurse.

She is dearly missed.

Kevin Shields

Kevin Shields lost his fight with cancer on the morning of Thursday, May 14th, 2009.  Kevin, age 47 at the time, was a professional Nuclear Engineer working at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant in Monticello, MN.  Kevin graduated from Iowa State University and began his career in the Nuclear Power Industry.  He worked at several different Nuclear power plants in Michigan and Minnesota.  He was very active in his church, a volunteer and supporter of numerous charitable organizations.  Kevin lived in Mitchell throughout his childhood and his parents still reside in Mitchell today.  Kevin's siblings live in Sioux Falls (Tom, Pat) and Minneapolis (Steve, Kate).
